When thinking of bicycles, one may imagine steel, aluminium, carbon fiber and of course bamboo! Since it is such a versatile raw material, it is obvious that somebody had to have the idea to build a bike out of it. And actually this is an old story: Already in the ending 19th century, the first prototype was constructed. Things did not change to much in the last 100 years. But people did. Today you will find a great variety of bicycles, or let us say human-powered vehicles of all kind, made of bamboo.
