This week we received a first cubic meter of Ethiopian highland bamboo (Yushania alpina) at the Center for Wood Science. The raw material came from African Bamboo Plc and was harvested close to Hagere Selam (Hula) in the Sidama region. This load will be used initially for two projects in 2015 and we are glad to have been supported by the regarding working group at Fraunhofer WKI in Braunschweig and our Thünen Institute driver Mr. Rudolph. Thank you! This is a great opportunity to continue our work with a new raw material, which on common ways would have been delayed months to get to Hamburg from Ethiopia.
